Summary
Requires ArcGIS 9.2. Adds two fields to a copy of your polygon feature class that will help make sensible label classes to support Maplex label placement. The first field is for shapetype (see Cartographic Perspectives 54 or the tool's help for details). The second is for size class, the idea being that smaller polygons get smaller text, so there is a parameter for number of size classes, which should be set to the number of text sizes for this class of features in your map's specification.
