Summary
VERSION 2.0 - This Application Coyote creates pre-numbered Interstate highway shields as Styles for later use in ESRI’s ArcGIS. It can generate point marker symbols for any Interstate route from 1 through 999. It can also generate H1-H9 and 1A-99Z. The latter will be useful for Hawaii and Texas. The user can control whether or not a symbol will be generated for each of these possible route numbers. There are two shield design styles to choose from and either default color schemes can be used or a custom color scheme can be created and used.

This application replaces and significantly extends the capabilities of DDV’s USA Interstate Highway Shield Styleset. A ready-built style for all 50 states is included with this new set.

This set contains directed (NB/SB, EB/WB) as well as plain versions of the shields. It also contains several new headings of special note: DET (for detour) and TOLL.

THIS APPLICATION MUST BE RUN ON A COMPUTER WITH ArcGIS 9 OR HIGHER INSTALLED (HOWEVER THE SYMBOLS IT CREATES CAN BE USED WITH ArcGIS 8 PROVIDED THE NECESSARY FONTS ARE INSTALLED).

After extraction, a Setup program will guide the user through the installation process. Introductory screens give an overview of the application’s features and a set of wizards is provided for guiding new users through the process.

BUG FIXES included in version 2.0 include: (1) Win XP: some form element background colors were incorrect. (2) Master maintenance: a reset button has been included to set all creates to “No” in a single step. (3) Quitting did not stop all program processes.
