Summary
+++This tool requires the installation of SatScan prior to use+++
The Cluster Analysis extension is an interface to a cluster analysis software
application, SaTScan( http://www.satscan.org/ ), developed by the National Cancer Institute. By
adding this tool extension to ArcView, you are able to select the various
parameters using the ArcView system rather then using two different
applications for your research and analysis. The data layers you select in
ArcView are formatted into files that run in SaTScan. The output is then
sent back to you in ArcView. All of this activity is completely transparent to
you while working in ArcView. Please reference the SaTScan
documentation for more detailed information on the various options and
parameters.

Go to http://www.healthgis-li.com/researchers/User_Guide.pdf (pg 155 of 189) for complete instructions on how to use the Cluster Analysis extension.

These extensions were developed for the Geographic Information System for Breast Cancer Studies on Long Island (LI GIS): http://www.healthgis-li.com. The LI GIS was developed by the U.S. National Cancer Institute and Titan Corporation and is available to researchers.
