Summary
The ArcView ShapeFile OCX (vr 2.0.8) was created as a programming tool to easily read or write Arcview Shapefiles for data conversion purposes. It allows you to create, read and alter both the vector/point data and the associated attribute record (without use of Microsofts’ DAO data control). There are MAJOR changes in the version 2 release including a .NET version so I suggest you read the help file. Also in the help file are a number of examples. Thanks to Stefan Giese for pushing the International Decimal issue in vr 1.2, Ken Carlson for making me see the need for a Find routine in vr 1.3, Lars Soe for help with the international character issue Enjoy!
