POINT & POLYLINE TOOLS V1.2
for ArcView 3.x
This extension contains a collection of tools to convert and/or modify point- and polyline-themes. All scripts except "Generalize Features" were written by Sören Alsleben.
Each tool processes selected records only or any record if none selected. The results are written to a new theme. You can select the fields you want to transfer to the new file (except "Generalize Features").
Generalizes polylines and polygons by using the Douglas - Peucker algorithm (ESRI system script).
Polyline 2 Segments v1.0:
Splits polylines to segments (each connecting two vertices).
Polyline Consolidator v1.1:
Consolidates adjacent polylines with identical end points between existing network nodes (dangle and real nodes). You might choose a subclassification to prevent unwished consolidations (e.g. of different roads types). Overlapping ('unnoded') intersections (e.g. Bridges) are not being consolidated. Consolidated lines are reconstructed to avoid redundant and/or missorted vertices.
Polyline Nodes Extractor v1.1:
Extracts nodes of a polyline theme. Nodes are classified as dangle, real and vertex. Optionally appends From- & to Node-IDs to line theme's attribute table. Useful to ensure the integrety of your network.
Polyline Reconstructor v1.0:
Reconstructs polylines removing identical vertices and separation strings.
Polyline Unnoded Intersections 2 Point v1.01:
Extracts unnoded intersections of polylines within one theme. Self-Intersections are excluded but get marked in source theme's selection.
Split Polyline At Point v1.0:
Splits polylines using overlying points of a selectable point theme.
Snap Point 2 Polyline v1.0:
Snaps (moves) points within a selectable snap distance onto a polyline. The points are snapped to the closest vertex of the nearest polyline. You might increase the density of the polyline's vertices by adding virtual vertices (without writing changes to polyline theme).
Covered Polyline Analyzer v1.0:
Scans and counts polylines that are completely covered by other polylines and adds the amount to the attribute table; useful for quantitative analysis (e.g. extent of path utilization).
Polyline Add Coordinates v1.0:
Adds coordinates of each line's start-/endpoint to the attribute table.
Polyline Add Length v1.0:
Determines and writes length of each polylines to new field.
Number Set Default Format v1.0:
Redefines the format used for numbers.
View Set Coordinate Precision v1.0:
Redefines the view's coordinate precision.
